So this past week was some hardcore swimming and it exhausted me. Im the kinda person who doesn’t get a lot of sleep at night, like 4-6 hours and I have not been recovering as much as I should be yet I’m still doing rather well in practice and even surprising myself. Anyway, Friday and Saturday were the hardest swim practices I have ever completed bar none. Later that day I chilled with Kathleen and it ended up like this… Oops. She then came to save me Picture 2 And all was well
But thats not what I am referring to when I say Shiver by the River! Shiver by the River happened today!
I was mad tired from swimming.
I went to bed at 1:30 am
I woke up
ate two pudding packs
we got there 30 min before the race
I sat down on a picnic table and put my head down
waited till 11
went to the starting line
stood there
the guy started talking
I took off my clothes
and I started running
my first mile was 40 seconds slower than I normally go. But I did 3 miles on the same time.
So I did ok
19:40
I was sorta surprised
I just used mile 1 as a warm up
6:22 first mile
hahaha omgggggggggg
I was like wow I suck as soon as I heard that
But I managed to keep actually go faster for my next miles.
I did a 5:30s mile a couple times in XC for the first mile
I got 30th place out of over 300 people. My mom got 114th place and she got 1st place in her age group.
